Impatient people are often labeled as insensitive, impulsive, and arrogant. Others find them hard to deal with and poor decision makers. Because of their bad temper, some people would avoid them. If you feel you are one of them, it is time to start assessing yourself and find out what causes it. Your feeling of impatience can be triggered by people, situations, phrases, and others. You need to identify your triggers, so you can evaluate your actions and discover the reasons why you are having such feeling. When you feel impatient, you need to snap out of this frame of mind as fast as you can. Here are 5 ways to help you become the patient person. Take A Deep Breathe
Taking a deep, slow breath, and counting 1 to 10 can help slow down your heart rate. It relaxes your body too and snaps you out emotionally from the situation. If you are feeling impatient, you can do a longer count, or you can repeat this several times. Relax Your Body The feeling of impatient can make you tense your muscles involuntarily. The best way to snap out of this negative feeling is to relax your body. Along with relaxing your muscles from toes up to your head, you also need to take slow, deep breaths. Control Your Emotions Remember you have a choice. You can choose to be patient or not to be. It all depends on you and the situation. Slow Down Instruct yourself to slow down. Try to speak and move more slowly. People will see you as if you are a calm person. By doing this each time you feel you will burst out, you will feel more patient and calm. Be an Active and Empathic Listener at the Same Time Practice active and empathic listening. Give your full attention to other people and plan your response patiently. Keep in mind that although many people are by nature patient, others need to practice patience until they master it.
